Crest Ultrasonics opened its doors in 1961 in Trenton, New Jersey with a full line of high quality industrial ultrasonic tanks and generators. Within a few short years, Crest's sales growth soared, leading Crest to expand its manufacturing capacity. In 1982, Crest continued to expand, enlarging its manufacturing facility to its current 50,000 square feet. That same year, Crest acquired Uthe Technology Corporation, a major manufacturer of power supplies and ultrasonic transducers designed specifically for wire bonding. Six years later in 1988, Crest began mass producing the Optimum Console™ industrial cleaning console. This standard line of all-in-one wash-rinse-dry precision cleaning system, together with Crest's patented TRU-SWEEP™ ultrasonic sweep frequency, revolutionized the cleaning industry. Shortly thereafter, Crest expanded its industrial cleaning expertise into the tabletop market. In 1992, Crest founded the Commercial Products Division, which manufactures and markets the TRU-SWEEP™ line of benchtop ultrasonic cleaners. In 1997, Crest then expanded into the ultrasonic welding field with the purchase of Rinco AG, a Switzerland based company that manufactures ultrasonic welding products of all types.

Today, Crest occupies a 50,000 square foot facility in Trenton, New Jersey, which houses a fully integrated manufacturing operation. Crest employs over 800 people worldwide and is represented in over 20 locations around the U.S. and in 12 countries. With annual sales in excess of $42 million and growing, Crest has completed a 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located in Penang, Malaysia. With this facility, Crest is better able to respond to the changing and expanding needs of the international and domestic markets. To maintain a leadership position in custom system design, Crest employs the largest engineering staff in the industry, utilizing the latest in CAD technology. Additionally, Crest's process development staff is unmatched in the industry. Crest continues to pioneer in process development, earning a large number of patented processes. Furthermore, Crest has developed many innovative processes and chemistries designed to assist customers with difficult cleaning problems, where alternatives have failed.
